Husband says one day our daughter will grow up (a fact) and read this (a possibility) and given that “food is an excuse” kind of talking is what leads younger people to anorexia (non-sensical Husband talk) , I should immediately publish a post with suggestions to a PICNIC MENU.
So, here it is. To save my daughter.
We already know I don’t exactly love spending time in the kitchen so here is the fastest and yummiest things you can prepare for your picnic.
1.GRAPES AND CHEESE. Wash, cut, toss in bowl and dress with oil and a bit of mint before serving.
2. FRESH VEGETABLE STICKS. Cut. What? That’s it! Okay, if you feel you can do more (!), add a Tsp of mustard to some yogurt and there you go; you just made yourself a great, healthy dip.
3. PASTA. Boil in salted water with a couple of Tsp of olive oil and serve with fresh basil, or oreganon and olive oil.
4. CHERRY TOMATOES. Cut in half, add some mozzarella and serve with olive oil and balsamico vinegar.
5. CHICKEN WRAPS. Boil, skin, cut in pieces, add salt, pepper, mustard, lemon and olive oil, wrap with fresh lettuce and pitta bread. I sometimes add capers
and for dessert:
TAHINI AND HONEY SANDWICHES. Middle Eastern Cuisine uses tahini- a paste of mashed sesame seeds, a lot. If you are not familiar with it, try it out. I love the whole grain version. Your palate will be amazed and your stomach, especially if you are a drinker, thankful.
(Tip: Don’t Get Tired Preparing, Get Tired Enjoying!)
